Wisconsin Legalization - Wake Up, People!

Wisconsin Legalization - Wake Up, People! It sickens me when time and time again I hear people, usually older people, who are stuck on the idea that marijuana and other drugs should remain illegal. They seem to be completely BLIND to reality. Look at what is currently one of this country's current problems - PRESCRIPTION DRUGS! How can they not see that prescription drugs are just illegal drugs in hiding. Why do so many people turn to heroin, because they innocently became addicted to prescription drugs. What is Oxycontin, Oxydcondone, it is SYNTHETIC HEROIN. That is why, when people become addicted to pain killers and they can no longer afford them LEGALLY, they turn to heroin from the streets. So all that is really going on is if you want to obtain drugs legally, you jump through the hoops of the medical field, do as your Doctor asks, etc. If medical marijuana was legalized, the same would be true, just jump through the hoops and do as you are required by the law, would it really be any different? The government could tax it and regulate it. It could be a good thing for all involved. There are more and more research studies that show the medical benefits of marijuana. So, the question is, is marijuana more harmful than Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Vicodin, Darvocet, etc? I do not believe that there has ever been a case of fatality from marijuana. I do not believe that marijuana is anywhere NEAR as harmful to the body as the narcotic drugs that are so prevalant today. What is it that is preventing the legalization of marijuana, RED TAPE and MONEY. I am sure that if the marijuana industry could pay out as much to our government as they currently receive from the Drug Industry, that red tape would disappear completely and legalization would occur. Another point that has bothered me tremendously is the ridiculousness that surrounded the whole prohibition of marijuana in the first place. I think any intelligent person would agree that the information that was provided to the government was totally bogus. With that being said, and with acknowledgement of that, on what basis is it currently banned for?

I don't think it will be too long before cannibis will be legal, or at least decriminalized. It already is decriminalized in Milwaukee.
Any reasonable, law-abiding citizen I think would agree that it doesn't really matter, marijuana is a drug, period. The law has already been passed, long ago, and arguing that is just a waste of time.

Ray, you must still think women or blacks shouldn't vote then? If laws are viewed un-needed, they need to be revoked. There's no point for our freedoms to be limited on a basis of unlogical propositions.

Everyone who thinks pot should stay illegal should some day have a disease that is so miserable that the only effective relief they get would have been from pot!

...let me guess... YOU personally have a disease that requires you to advocate pot? Most likely not....all pot heads grasp for whatever they can grab onto in hopes for the crap to be legalized. But until then guess all of the people who have the real diseases will have to make due with their medical marijuana prescriptions. BUMMER!

It is being decriminalized all over the US, which is a step in the right direction. People should not jailed over something so trivial as marijuana.

I make about $30k a year (tax free) by growing marijuana in my bedroom closet. I've been doing this for the past 10 years. Do I want to see marijuana legalized? Do the math..
